Your Monthly Cycle
Your menstrual cycle isn’t just about your period– it’s a whole monthly rhythm your body goes through to keep things working smoothly. Each phase has its own purpose, symptoms, and hormonal shifts. The more you understand it, the more empowered you’ll feel.
Menstruation (Your Period)
Cycle Days: The day your period starts is Day 1 of your monthly cycle. Most women’s periods last about 3-5 days.
Your period is the official “reset” button of your cycle– and it’s not a punishment, even if it feels that way some days. This is when your body shed the uterine lining it built up last month.
You might feel: Tired, crampy, bloated, emotional.
Tips: Use Period Relief if you’re dealing with cramps or mood swings. Rest more. Hydrate.
Follicular Phase (Your Body’s Prep Mode)
Cycle Days: The first half of your cycle. If your cycle is 28 days, your follicular phase would be days 1-14.
Hormone Shift: Estrogen starts rising.
Think of this phase as your body’s springtime. Your brain tells your ovaries to prepare an egg, your energy starts coming back, and estrogen (your “feel-good” hormone) helps rebuild your uterine lining.
You might feel: Motivated, energized, more social.
Tips: Use E-Balance to help support optimal estrogen levels. This is a great time for workouts, creative projects, or trying new things.
Ovulation (Your Body’s Big Moment)
Cycle Day: The midpoint of your cycle. If your cycle is 28 days, ovulation can occur around day 14 or 15.
Hormone Shift: Estrogen peaks → makes LH surge → egg is released
This is where one ovary releases an egg. You’re the most fertile up to five days before ovulations and about one day after ovulation– even if you’re not trying to conceive. Estrogen is at its highest, so you may feel confident, flirty, and fabulous.
You might feel: Increased sex drive, clearer thinking, and glow skin.
If you are trying to conceive: Look for stretchy, egg-white cervical fluid (this helps sperm travel!). Some people feel a little cramp or twinge on one side.
Tips: Support healthy ovulation with E-Balance.
Luteal Phase (Your Cozy, Calm Phase)
Cycle Days: The second half of your cycle. If your cycle is 28 days, your luteal phase would be days 15-28.
Hormone Shift: Progesterone rises
After ovulation, your body gets ready just in case there’s a baby on board. Progesterone kicks in to calm things down, support the uterine lining, and balance estrogen out.
You might feel: More tired, a bit moody, craving comfort foods or quiet time.
Tips: E-Balance can help support balanced estrogen levels. Support progesterone levels with P-Boost, Ovary Health, or Healthy Uterus– especially if you’re feeling emotional, bloated, or have PMS symptoms. Add Period Relief as needed.
Your cycle is like a report card for your health— while ups and downs can occur, it’s important to track and understand what is going on with your body.
WHAT'S A REGULAR CYCLE?
A healthy range for a regular cycle is between 26 to 32 days. This means there are 26-32 days from the day your period starts to the day before your period starts again.
BUT WHAT IF MY CYCLE ISN'T REGULAR?
Not everyone has a predictable cycle or a cycle at all– and we are here to support you! Let’s talk about some common scenarios and what they might mean.
I DON'T GET A PERIOD AT ALL.
If your period is totally missing and you’re not pregnant, breastfeeding, or menopausal, your body is telling you that something’s off.
Possible reasons:
Low progesterone
PCOS
Stress, under-eating, or over-exercising
Thyroid issues
Coming off birth control
What can help:
Focus on supporting progesterone levels by using P-Boost, Healthy Uterus, or Ovary Health to gently encourage your body to get back into rhythm. Every 2-3 drops contains about 1.5-2 mg of progesterone sourced from wild yam, which is structurally bioidentical to your hormones. Track how you feel, and always talk to a provider if something feels off.
Postpartum (The “Fourth Trimester”)
After baby arrives, your body enters a whole new season. Hormones drop fast, and it can take months to regulate again– especially if you’re breastfeeding.
You may experience:
No cycle or irregular periods
Mood swings or anxiety
Hair loss, fatigue, or brain fog
Low libido or vaginal dryness
What can help: Our Women’s Hormone Kit. Each blend can work together to help ease the transition. Be gentle with yourself– postpartum healing is a marathon, not a sprint.
Perimenopause + Menopause (The Shift)
Think of this phase as puberty… in reverse.
Perimenopause
Can start as early as your late 30s and lasts up to 10 years before menopause. Hormones rise and fall unpredictably.
You might feel:
Mood swings
Heavy or irregular periods
Hot flashes or night sweats
Sleep issues or brain fog
What can help: Our Women’s Hormone Kit– each blend can be used daily to help calm the rollercoaster.
Menopause
Officially starts one full year after your last period. Your ovaries slow down and stop producing estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.
You might feel:
Low energy
Bone thinning or joining pain
Changes in skin, weight, or memory
Vaginal dryness
What can help: Our Women’s Hormone Kit can offer full-body support. For extra estrogen support, add Menopause Relief.
Can Birth Control Help?
Hormonal birth control doesn’t balance hormones– it shuts them down. You might not realize that your “period” on the pill is actually a pill-induced withdrawal bleed.
Pills, patches, IUDs, implants, and injections work by shutting down ovulation. Your body stops producing its own hormones and uses synthetic versions instead.
This Can Lead To:
Lighter or no periods
Mood changes
Libido shifts
Vitamin & mineral depletion
Hormonal imbalances when you stop
Birth control is not the answer!
I want to stop birth control.
If you’re coming off of birth control:
Start supporting your body before you stop. This helps soften the hormonal whiplash.
Use all four blends of the Women’s Hormone Kit for 1 month prior.
Continue all four blends daily once you’re off birth control until your cycle regulates naturally.
I’m taking or considering birth control to prevent pregnancy.
Good news! There are natural ways to track your cycle and prevent pregnancy that don’t involve throwing off your hormones or awful side effects. Natural birth control doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means getting to know your body. It’s about working with your cycle– not against it!
Fertility Awareness Method (FAM)
This is not the "rhythm method” your grandma warned you about. Modern FAM is science-backed and highly effective when done correctly. It’s about knowing your body and tracking signs of fertility daily.
What you track:
Waking body temperature (BBT) - tells you when ovulation has happened
Cervical fluid (CM) - tells you when ovulation is coming
LH testing strips - can confirm your ovulation window
How it works:
FAM works by learning when you’re fertile (usually just 5-6 days per cycle) and avoiding unprotected sex during that time– or using it as your window if you are trying to conceive.
Tools that can help:
Tempdro or Daysy (smart thermometers for tracking BBT)
Oura ring (helps track BBT, not as dependable as smart thermometer)
Kindara or FEMM apps (cycle charting)
Barrier methods like condoms or diaphragms for fertile days
Real talk– FAM isn’t for everyone.
It requires consistency and learning time.
It’s less effective if used casually or incorrectly
Not ideal during postpartum, perimenopause, or irregular cycles
