Sometimes the most reassuring part of a label is what you won't find on it. Our Dog Shampoo is made without sulfates, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrance, or synthetic preservatives. That matters for a few practical reasons.
Sulfates create a big, bubbly lather, but they can also strip away more natural oils than a dog's skin really needs, especially with regular bathing. From there, synthetic dyes add color to the bottle, not for your dog. And synthetic fragrance can be a common source of sensitivity, which is why we chose a pleasant botanical scent instead. The result is a shampoo focused on the essentials: cleaning thoroughly, rinsing clean, and leaving your dog's coat soft, shiny, and fresh.
Reading Our Label, One Ingredient At A Time
Ingredient lists can look intimidating, so we like to translate ours into plain language. The cleansing comes from three mild coconut-derived ingredients, namely coco-glucoside, cocamidopropyl betaine, and sodium methyl cocoyl taurate. Together, they lift away dirt and oil while staying gentle on skin. Then, certified organic glycerin draws in moisture, helping the coat feel silky rather than dry after rinsing. Hydrolyzed silk protein adds conditioning and a healthy-looking shine.
To keep the formula fresh without synthetic preservatives, we use a coconut fruit extract fermented with Saccharomyces, a natural preservation method. Sodium gluconate helps the shampoo work well even in hard water, citric acid balances the formula's pH, and xanthan gum gives it a smooth, easy-to-pour texture. Finally, lavender and cedarwood oils add a clean, woodsy scent that's enjoyable without being overpowering.
Rest assured, every Rowe Casa formula is made in our Texas facility with input from organic chemists, certified aromatherapists, and third-party testers, so you can feel good about what goes into each bottle.
A Natural Dog Shampoo For Sensitive Skin
If your dog's skin reacts easily, bath time is about more than getting clean. It's about avoiding anything that could leave them more uncomfortable afterward.
Choose Gentle Over Heavy Foam
A mild, sulfate-free cleanser may not lather as dramatically as conventional shampoo, but that's not a bad thing. Foam isn't what cleans your dog. The cleansing agents do, and gentle, coconut-based ones help remove dirt without leaving skin feeling tight or dry.
Rinse Longer Than You Think
Leftover shampoo residue is a common culprit behind post-bath itchiness. Take extra time rinsing thick coats, the belly, and the areas under the legs, where product tends to hide. When the water runs clear and the coat no longer feels slick, you're done.
Find A Bathing Rhythm That Fits
There's no schedule that works for everyone. Many dogs do well with a bath every few weeks, while active dogs or those who love rolling in the yard may need more frequent washing. A gentle formula gives you added flexibility to bathe as needed without overdoing it.
Choosing An Organic Dog Shampoo For Itchy Skin
Itching is one of the most common reasons pet parents start looking closer at their dog's shampoo, and it's worth knowing what a shampoo can and can't do. A gentle wash helps clear away dirt, pollen, and other everyday debris that can cling to your dog's coat, keeping skin smooth and supple. Choosing a formula without harsh detergents or synthetic fragrance also means you're not adding potential irritants to the mix.
That said, itching can have many causes, including fleas, seasonal allergies, food sensitivities, or skin infections. If your dog is scratching constantly, has red or broken skin, or is losing patches of fur, your veterinarian is the best person to identify what's going on and recommend a plan. That said, a gentle shampoo can be a supportive part of that routine.

Bath Day, Made Easy
A little preparation goes a long way toward a calmer, less chaotic bath.
- Brush Before Bathing: Brush your dog first to loosen tangles and remove loose fur, so the shampoo can reach the skin.
- Start With Lukewarm Water: Wet the coat thoroughly with lukewarm water, which is more comfortable for dogs than hot water.
- Lather From Neck To Tail: Apply shampoo to the wet coat and lather the amount you need, working from the neck toward the tail.
- Protect The Eyes And Face: Keep suds away from the eyes, and use a damp washcloth for the face instead.
- Rinse, Dry, And Shake: Rinse thoroughly until no residue remains, then towel dry and let the water-shedding shakes begin.
With its gentle cleansers and light lavender-cedarwood scent, our Dog Shampoo turns bath day into something you and your pup can both look forward to. Learn more about how it fits into your dog's care routine and give their coat the thorough wash it deserves.
